Basically it started with the cushions, in the gift trade one of the holy grails is a silk cushion at a reasonable price. If you can sell a silk cushion at a retail of less than £18 then you have a winning product. Then came digital printed cushions.. wonderful but so expensive.

So being in the wholesale gift trade I set out to find a cost effective digital printed cushion that could pass as silk. A quality product like this it seemed to me could be amazing.

I always think about heritage gift outlets, if they could put bespoke images on to cushion covers, they would sell like hot cakes. Cushion covers are great for tourists as they take no luggage space.

I really have traveled the world in search of this beast. India, China, Indonesia. Trying to find a company that could supply such a thing and in reasonable quantities.

Actually I'd almost given up. When I came across an American company selling premium quality microfiber bed sheets as an alternative to Egyptian Cotton. The material is almost revolutionary, it is hard wearing, you can wash it everyday, it's very soft and silky, fully heat resistant.. and produced in China.

We got hold of a sample and, just off on a trip back to Europe I asked my Chinese business partner if he could find away to digitally print on it, not really expecting it to work. Anyway on my return there he was excitedly jumping up and down with a stunning photo quality print. Digitally printed on to the magic microfiber.

What's more the costings made exciting reading, we could make very high quality, very distinctive cushion covers at very reasonable retail price point, with healthy margins for the retailer.

We made some designs, sent them to the UK. To Ancient Wisdom - the giftware wholesalers where they sold like proverbial hot cakes.

Custom designs, direct from China to the retailers or prime users. And not just cushions (we soon got lots of ideas from customers) almost any product could be made from digitally printed microfiber.
I learned a few things from the Chinese.. If we could cut out all the middlemen and get product from our factory as directly and quickly as possible, it would create real volumes that could support a reasonable sized production unit in China thus creating good economies.
So using technology (this website) and our back office in the UK to deal with the admin we have made it possible for you or your designer to upload a picture this morning and within hours have it in production in China.
Microfiber is not bulky so shipping by air is surprisingly cost effective for even relatively small quantities. Within a few days you could have finished product in your retail outlet.. Or hotel.. Or restaurant.

When you think about the applications can go well beyond retail sales of cushions. For example corporate designs for hotels, promotion companies etc. We can produce cost effective bespoke packaging for anything from perfumes to jewelry to wine bottles.
